Picturesque Kalaw is nestled in scenic mountains, where several of Burma’s ethnic minority groups live, including the Paluang, Danu and Pa-O. In some local villages, the local people still wear their traditional costumes. Kalaw retains the laidback atmosphere of the British hill station it once was, and offers a relaxing place to enjoy Burma’s enchanting countryside. The mountains that surround Kalaw are also home to lush tea plantations.
