Tour Overview

Day 1

Day 1: ARRIVAL YANGON

Arrive at Yangon International Airport. Upon arrival, a representative will be waiting to greet you at the airport and accompany you on the private transfer directly to your hotel. Take a short break after the flight and in the afternoon head out to the busy streets of Yangon for your half day sightseeing tour. We´ll start at the Sule Pagoda, a gleaming octagonal pagoda that stands squarely at the center of the city and then we´ll take a walk along the colonial buildings, the City Hall and the Independence Monument. Then we´ll continue to Bogyoke Aung San Market, the largest market in Yangon. There will be plenty of time to browse the hundreds of stalls for souvenirs and bargains. After the lunch (own expenses) we´ll visit Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda that sits one of the greatest 66-meter long leaning Buddha. To wrap up our Yangon discoveries we´ll continue to Shwedagon Pagoda, the most sacrosanct Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar and one of the most famous pagodas in the world and we´ll get a glimpse of Burma´s life while enjoying a tea at the local tea shop. You will be back at the hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 2

Day 2: YANGON – BAGAN (1.5 hrs by plane; included)

Wake up to breakfast at the hotel, and then get ready for your transfer to the airport to take a domestic flight to Bagan. Upon your arrival, meet our guide who will accompany you to your tour through Bagan. We´ll start by contemplating the views of the magnificent plains of Bagan on the way to the golden stupa of the Shwezigon Pagoda, where you’ll receive a crash course in Bagan’s rich history. Then, visit the nearby Wetkyi-In Gubyaukgyi, a cave temple with exquisite jataka mural paintings and the elegant Htilominlo Temple, noted for its fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decorations. After the lunch (own expenses) we´ll continue our tour to Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece and one of Bagan’s most beautiful houses of worship, and taste Burmese Beatle nuts as locals do. From here, we´ll continue our tour passing the highest temple in Bagan, Thatbyinnyu, Dhammayangyi Temple, a massive temple noted for its remarkable brickwork, and Sulamani Temple. Enjoying the sunset over this unique ancient town will be the best way to wrap up our Bagan´s discoveries. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 3

Day 3: BAGAN

Breakfast at the hotel is followed by a full day Bagan sightseeing tour. We will visit nearby villages and observe the traditional rural life of the locals. First, we will head out to colorful Nyaung Oo Market to get a glimpse of the local market business. We´ll continue to Myinkaba Village to visit Manuha and Nan Paya temples and before lunch we´ll pay a visit to traditional lacquerware workshop and observe the production of one of Myanmar’s best-known handicrafts. In the afternoon we´ll drive to the rural village of Minnanthu, one of Bagan’s least-visited areas and after the visit of Payathonzu, Lemyentha and Nandamannya pagodas, we will board a cruise and we´ll sail down the Irrawaddy River while enjoying the picturesque rural life of local Myanmar´s villages during the romantic sunset. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 4

Day 4: BAGAN – HEHO (0.45 hrs by plane, included) – INLE LAKE (35 km – 1 h)

Wake up to breakfast at the hotel, then leave Bagan for a domestic flight to Heho and Inle Lake. Upon arrival in Heho Airport, enjoy the scenic one-hour drive to Nyaung Shwe, the gateway to Inle Lake. En route we´ll stop to visit Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery, a beautiful red-painted teak building, and once in Inle Lake we´ll take an excursion in a private longtail boat that will take you to Inle Lake, one of Myanmar's most fabulous sights. Sail across this vast, serene lake, past Buddhist temples and the stilt houses of the Intha community. Watch the local fishermen propelling their boats with their unique leg-rowing techniques. Admire the beautiful floating gardens developed from clumps of water hyacinth secured in position by bamboo poles. Visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the primary Buddhist site on the lake containing five gilded images of Buddha. At the end of the tour, enjoy the rest of the evening relaxing and soaking up the magical atmosphere of this unique location. Overnight in Inle Lake.
Day 5

Day 5: INLE LAKE

Rise and shine to breakfast at the hotel and then stroll down the authentic local market in Nyaung Shwe to get a wide selection of Burmese fresh local vegetables, handicrafts and other goods. Tasting of the Tea Salad, the local speciality is a must! Afterwards we´ll board a private speedboat and we´ll go around Inle Lake. Float down the small canal leading to the Pa-oh village of In Dein and explore the area walking around the village, wander through the beautiful Alaung Sitthou area, perhaps climb up to the stairway top of the hill is covered with picturesque ancient stupas and has magnificent views of the lake scenery. Once back in the village, continue along the lake for additional sightseeing before returning to your hotel. Overnight in Inle Lake.
Day 6

Day 6: INLE LAKE – HEHO (35 km – 1 h) – THANDWE (1 h by plane; included) – NGAPALI BEACH (15 km - 0.5 hrs)

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel, check out and get ready for your transfer to Heho airport to board a domestic flight to Thandwe, a getaway to Fascinating Ngapali Beach. After landing at Thandwe Airport, you’ll be met by a tour representative holding a sign with your name on it. You will then be guided to the shared shuttle bus that will transfer you to the hotel. After checking in, you can head out and start enjoying the white sand corners of Ngapali beach. Bask in the sun and work on your tan or jump in the water and play with the waves. You can even become acquainted with the locals walking around the beach town to learn about the local culture. In the evening, Ngapali beach offers a wide variety of restaurants where you can enjoy an exquisite local or international meal. Overnight in Ngapali Beach.
Day 7

Day 7: NGAPALI BEACH

After breakfast at the hotel, step out onto the warm sands of Ngapali beach and prepare to enjoy this paradisiacal spot for a full day at your own rhythm. If you so wish, feel free to join one of many available optional excursions. For instance, you could contemplate the beauty of Ngapali Beach from the air by signing up to a hot air balloon ride. Hop into the basket and watch the ground sink away as you soar up into the sky, from where you’ll glimpse the combination of sun, sea and sand that makes Ngapali beach so famous. If you do not have a head for heights, another good option is joining a boat trip to the island. Drop anchor a little way offshore, then spend the rest of the day snorkeling or scuba diving. Marvel at the plethora of colorful fish with which the waters are teeming. You might even see the odd turtle! You can contact our office at the destination for more information. Day 8

Day 8: NGAPALI BEACH – THANDWE (15 km - 0.5 hrs) – DEPARTURE YANGON

Depending on flight time, there is an option to take a ride on Yangon’s Circle Train in the morning. After breakfast, you will transfer to Yangon Railways station to take local circular train for a journey to the outskirts of town (45 minutes ride). The slowly traveling train gives you a unique opportunity to observe the lively and colorful life of the rural Burmese people. Disembark to visit Insein market where a variety of street vendors sell colorful wares. Enjoy exploring the market and meeting the friendly locals before returning by road to Yangon. This afternoon, visit Bogyoke Market, formerly known as Scott’s Market, where you can browse through the wide selection of Myanmar handicrafts and other goods before transferring to Yangon International Airport for your onward flight. (Note: Market is closed on Mondays and public holidays).
