Tour Overview

Day 1


Upon landing at Yangon International Airport, make your own way to the arrivals hall, where your guide will meet you and will start your introductory tour through Yangon City. The first visit will be at the Marble Temple (Kyauktawgyi Buddha), home to 7.6 m tall Buddha. Shortly afterwards, visit Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda, home to a 66-metre long reclining Buddha which is built in 1907 and one of the largest in Myanmar. Experience a traditional cup of Myanmar Tea at a local tea shop (included), common practice and tradition of socializing within the locals. From here, continue to Shwedagon Pagoda, the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar. Follow the guide’s lead around this massive complex and learn why this temple is so revered. Meet a Buddhist monk at the shrine and experience a private blessing. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the hotel, for check-in. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 2

Day 2: YANGON – MANDALAY (630 km – 8 hrs)

Wake up to breakfast at the hotel, then check out and get ready for your eight hour drive to Mandalay. Observe the scenic landscape and rural countryside of this fascinating country and once in the town and after the check in, spend the rest of the day at leisure. Perhaps stroll down the streets of this royal capital of northern Myanmar, walk along the Ayeyarwady River that surrounds the town or get an insight of the local gastronomy at one of the city restaurants or street stalls. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 3


Wake up to breakfast at the hotel and get yourself ready for a full day sightseeing over the Mandalay´s besides spots. We´ll begin in Sagaing, the spiritual center of Myanmar and we´ll visit Sagain hill that is popular for thousands monks and nuns, as a spiritual retreat for meditation and contemplation. We´ll visit Kaungmudaw Pagoda, one of the must-see pilgrimage and tourist spots in Sagaing area, known for its egg-shaped design and we´ll continue to Padamyazedi and Umin Thonze. After the lunch (own expenses) we´ll continue to Amarapura, an ancient capital built on the advice of astrologers and we´ll have some time to go around and do some shopping. While returning back to Mandalay, we´ll stop at U Bein'S Bridge, a picturesque passage that spans the Taungthaman Lake near to Amarapura. You will be back in the hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 4

Day 4: MANDALAY – MOUNT POPA – BAGAN (250 km - 5.5 hrs)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, and then visit the holiest shrine in Mandalay, Mahamuni Pagoda, that is home to one of Myanmar’s most revered Buddha image. The 4-metre-tall seated Buddha has been covered with so much gold leaf by visitors over the years that is acquired an unusual lumpy texture. Enter the temple for a close up look at the Mahamuni Buddha image and then spend some time walking around the temple grounds soaking up the spiritual atmosphere of the surroundings. After the temple tour, we´ll take a scenic drive to Bagan and we´ll stop at Mount Popa, the spiritual headquarter to Myanmar’s infamous ‘37 nats’ (spirits). Ascend the mountain via a winding covered staircase watched by the curious monkeys that populate the area. At the top, there is a monastery and temple complex with shrines where you can admire spectacular views over the landscape. We will reach our destination in the late afternoon. After the check-in, the rest of the day at leisure. You can either set out to visit the sites most interesting to you or simply relax at the hotel or enjoy the available services. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 5

Day 5: BAGAN

Breakfast at the hotel is followed by Bagan sightseeing tour. We´ll start by contemplating the views of the magnificent plains of Bagan on the way to the golden stupa of the Shwezigon Pagoda, where you’ll receive a crash course in Bagan’s rich history. Then, visit the nearby Wetkyi-In Gubyaukgyi, a cave temple with exquisite jataka mural paintings and the elegant Htilominlo Temple, noted for its fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decorations. In the afternoon, pay a visit to a traditional lacquerware workshop and observe the production of one of Myanmar’s best-known handicrafts, and then continue to Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece and one of Bagan’s most beautiful houses of worship. Enjoying the sunset over this unique ancient town will be the best way how to wrap up our Bagan´s discoveries. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 6

Day 6: BAGAN – NYAUNG SHWE/INLE LAKE (335 km – 7 hrs)

Wake up to breakfast at the hotel, then leave Bagan fora scenic, four hour drive to Nyaung Shwe, the gateway to the Inle Lake. Observe the tranquil rural life of the local farmers and enjoy the greenish landscape. After the check-in at the hotel, the rest of the day is free for you to spend at leisure discovering the essence of this magical area. The Inle Lake region is one of Myanmar's most famous destinations, a vast, serene lake skirted by marshes and floating gardens, where stilt-house villages and Buddhist temples rise above the water. Overnight in Nyaung Shwe/Inle Lake.
Day 7


Rise and shine to the breakfast at the hotel and then stroll down the authentic local market in Nyaung Shwe to get browse a wide selection of Burmese fresh local vegetables, handicrafts and other goods. Tasting of the Tea Salad, the local speciality is a must! Afterwards, we´ll board a private motorboat and we´ll go to see Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda, the holiest religious site in southern Shan State. Explore the town of Inpawkhone, famous for its silk-weaving handlooms and the Ngaphechaung Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries on the lake and one that is remarkably well-known for its cats, which have been trained to jump through hoops. Learn all about the traditional fishing techniques and discover the secrets of the floating gardens. Visit a number of fascinating workshops that include silk weaving, cheroot (mild cigar) making, silverware and weaving sacred robes from lotus fibres. Overnight in Inle Lake.
Day 8

Day 8: NYAUNG SHWE/INLE LAKE – PINDAYA – TAUNGOO (435 km – 9.5 hrs)

Breakfast at the hotel is followed by the check out and drive to our following destination, Taungoo. On our way we´ll stop to see the wooden Shwe Yan Pyay Monastery which features beautiful carvings and a collection of Buddha images, and from there we´ll continue to Pindaya Cave, a massive limestone cavern filled with thousands of gilded Buddha statues. Learn about the secrets of beauty while trying “Thanaka”, traditional herbal makeup and observe local handicraft workshop of traditional Shan Paper and Umbrella production. We will arrive at Taungoo in the late afternoon. Check-in to your hotel and the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Taungoo.
Day 9

Day 9: TAUNGOO – GOLDEN ROCK (295 km – 5 hrs)

Early morning, after breakfast at the hotel, start your journey to Golden Rock, a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon State. This drive will take approx. 5 hours to Kyaiktiyo Base Camp. From the base camp, travel by local open-air truck along a winding road. A huge boulder covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. Golden Rock is one of Myanmar’s most important pilgrimage sites. Offer Gold leaf to the shrine as per local customs. Upon the arrival at Golden Rock, you´ll check in to your hotel. Take the opportunity to rest and recover after the long drive or take a walk around this sacred place to get inspiration for your following discoveries Overnight in Golden Rock.
Day 10

Day 10: GOLDEN ROCK – DEPARTURE YANGON (190 km – 4 hrs)

After early breakfast at the hotel, prepare to check out of your room and at the scheduled time return to base camp by open-air truck, from where you will be transferred back to Yangon Airport for your onward or return flight (Please note that your transfer to the Yangon Airport will arrive around 3:00 PM. Recommended departure flight should be after 6:00 PM. Highway Golden Rock to the Yangon airport (190 km) will take 4 hours + Traffic).
