Tour Overview

Day 1


Arrive at Yangon International Airport. Upon arrival, a representative will be waiting to greet you at the airport and accompany you on the private transfer directly to your hotel. Take the opportunity to rest and recover after the flight or head out into the city for your first glimpse of life in Myanmar´s sprawling capital city. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 2

Day 2: YANGON – BAGAN (10 hrs in overnight bus; included)

After breakfast at the hotel, meet your guide in reception and go to venture down the city and its fabulous mix of the architectural and cultural sites during your half-day Yangon city tour. Starting at the historic Post Office and Sule Pagoda, a gleaming octagonal pagoda that stands squarely at the centre and walk alongside the colonial-style buildings, Strand hotel, Mahabandoola Garden and the Independence Monument. Then we´ll visit Little India and Chinatown, a colourful cacophony of restaurants, temples and markets and we´ll continue to Bogyoke Aung San Market, the largest market in Yangon. There will be plenty of time to browse the hundreds of stalls for souvenirs and bargains. To wrap up our first day of Myanmar discovery we´ll visit the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar, Shwedagon Pagoda, the 99-metre tall structure that is covered in gold leaf and surrounded by 64 other smaller stupas. Walk around the complex with your guide and discover why this sanctuary is so well loved. After the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel to pick up your luggage and then continue on your own to the Aung Mingalar Bus Station to board the public bus to your following destination, Bagan (Estimated time of the bus departure is at 20:00). Overnight on board the public bus.
Day 3

Day 3: BAGAN

Rise and shine to your new Myanmar destination, Bagan, the ancient city located in the Mandalay Region. The estimated arrival to Bagan bus station is at 7:00am. There will be a driver waiting for you at the arrival hall, who will drive you in a private transfer to your hotel. After the check-in, lay back and relax before your half day e-bike tour around the Bagan religious sites. Set off through the temple plains! We will visit a selection of historic architectural monuments and pass through villages and farms that are not easily accessible by car or bus. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 4

Day 4: BAGAN

After breakfast at the hotel, get ready to enjoy a full day at leisure in the city of Bagan. You can either set out to visit the sites most interesting to you or simply relax at the hotel or enjoy the available services. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 5

Day 5: BAGAN – MANDALAY (5 hrs in bus; included)

Wake up to breakfast at the hotel, check-out and get ready for your private transfer to Bagan Bus Station to board the public bus to Mandalay. Estimated departure is approx. at 9:30 in the morning. During this 5 hour drive, you will be passing through the scenic landscape of Myanmar´s countryside until your arrival to Mandalay at around 14:30. There will be a driver waiting for you and transfer you to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day at leisure. Take the opportunity to rest and recover after the long drive or head out into the city for your first glimpse of life in Mandalay. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 6

Day 6: MANDALAY – NYAUNG SHWE/INLE LAKE (10 hrs in overnight bus; included)

Wake up to breakfast at the hotel, and then enjoy the full day at leisure. You can set out to visit the sites most interesting to you or simply relax at the hotel and enjoy the available services. Mandalay is a former royal capital in northern Myanmar located on the Ayeyarwady River. In the city center that is surrounded by a watercourse, sits the royal palace of the last Burmese monarchy, the Mandalay Palace, and the city withhold fascinating religious and architectural sites, such as Mahagandaryone and Atumashi Monastery. You can visit the holiest shrine in Mandalay, Mahamuni Pagoda, home of Myanmar’s most revered Buddha image, or stroll down the oldest and largest market in Mandalay, Zegyo Market and enjoy shopping of local products and taste artisan flavours. In late afternoon please head to the Mandalay Bus station to onboard your overnight bus to Nyaung Shwe. Estimated departure is approx. at 22:00, please make your own arrangements to arrive at the Mandalay Bus Station at least one hour in advance. Overnight on board the public bus.
Day 7


Welcome to Nyaung Shwe, the getaway to Inle Lake! You will arrive at Nyaung Shwe bus station at approx. 6:00 in the morning, then walk about 6 minutes to your hotel in Nyaung Shwe. After the check-in, get ready for your cooking class to learn how to cook authentic Myanmar dishes from fresh, local quality ingredients on traditional charcoal cookers. Our classes are always adaptable to individual tastes and wishes, so don’t hesitate to tell us about your preferences (vegetarian, spicy/non-spicy etc.) You will be meeting with your chef in front of KBZ Bank next to the Mingalar central market in Nyaung Shwe at 9:00 am and together you stroll down the central market to do the shopping for your class. Once you have done your shopping, begin preparing your meals in small groups with the assistance of one of our chefs. Then comes the best part: food tasting! After the cookery experience, enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure soaking up the atmosphere of this tranquil place settled on a beautiful landscape. Overnight in Nyaung Shwe/Inle Lake.
Day 8

Day 8: NYAUNG SHWE/INLE LAKE – YANGON (12 hrs in overnight bus; included)

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and get ready for your boat excursion around the vast, serene Inle Lake. Today’s excursion that will take you to Inle Laker's most fabulous sights. Sail across this vast, serene lake, past Buddhist temples and the stilt houses of the Intha community. Watch the local fishermen propelling their boats with their unique leg-rowing techniques. Admire the beautiful floating gardens developed from clumps of water hyacinth secured in position by bamboo poles. Visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the primary Buddhist site on the lake containing five gilded images of Buddha. Explore the Inle Lake’s local crafts at a silversmith workshop, the traditional weaving town of Inpawkhone and a cheroot processing plant where stogies are made by hand. Then, continue to the western banks of the lake and travel down a small canal to Indein. Indein is a Pa-Oh village known for its stupa-covered hill at Alaung Sitthou. Spend time exploring Indein on foot, and head to the top of Alaung Sitthou. Here, wander around the weather-beaten stupas and enjoy magnificent views of the lake below. After this tour, pick up your luggage and get to the Nyaung Shwe bus station to take your overnight bus back to Yangon. Estimated time of bus departure is at 17:00, please make your own arrangements to arrive at the Nyaung Shwe bus station. Overnight on board the public bus.
Day 8


Rise and shine to Yangon! You will arrive at Yangon Bus Station approximately at 7:00 in the morning. We recommend you to set your ongoing travel arrangements accordingly or book our optional post-night stay in Yangon.
