Tour Overview

Day 1


Arrive at Yangon International Airport. Upon arrival, a representative will be waiting to greet you at the airport and accompany you on the private transfer directly to your hotel. The best arrival time is before 9:00 in the morning. Please set your travel arrangements accordingly or book our optional pre-night stay in Yangon. After check-in, head out to the busy streets of Yangon and together with your guide go for Yangon city tour that will encompass various colonial-style buildings, the City Hall and the Independence Monument. After lunch in the local restaurant (own expenses), follow your guide for a visit of Kandawgyi Nature Park, a scenic park with a lovely view of famous Kandawgyi Lake and Karaweik Royal Barge. In the early evening, enjoy a visit of Shwedagon Pagoda, the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar and one of the most famous pagodas in the world. The 99-metre tall structure is covered in gold leaf and surrounded by 64 other smaller stupas. Walk around the complex with your guide and discover why this sanctuary is so well loved. You will be back in the hotel in the evening. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 2

Day 2: YANGON – BAGAN (1.15 hrs by plane, included)

After breakfast at the hotel, prepare for a pick-up at reception and transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Bagan. Bagan is an ancient city and a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site located in the Mandalay Region of Myanmar. On the banks of the Ayeyarwady River, the city is famous for the Bagan Archaeological Area, where over 2,000 Buddhist landmarks overshadow its green plains. Upon arrival in Bagan, you will be welcomed by our guide and begin a full day of sightseeing that will take you to Nyaung Oo Market; Wetkyi-In-Gubyaukgyi, a temple with exquisite frescoes of scenes from Jataka; the City Gate and Ananda Temple, the most beautiful temple in Bagan with four huge standing Buddha images and numerous seated figures in niches around the galleried interior; Thatbyinnyu Temple, the tallest temple in Bagan, built by King Alaung Sithu in the early 11th century. After lunch (own expenses), we´ll continue to the rural villages of Minanthu and Phwasaw and we´ll observe Myanmar’s best-known handicrafts in a traditional lacquerware workshop. Round off the day by watching the sunset over the Ayeyarwaddy River from Bupaya. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 3

Day 3: BAGAN – MANDALAY (0.5 hrs, by plane; included) – AMARAPURA - MANDALAY (20 km – 0.45 hrs)

Start the day with breakfast at the hotel, and then get ready for transfer to the airport to take a domestic flight to Mandalay. Mandalay is a former royal capital in northern Myanmar located on the Ayeyarwady River. In the city center that is surrounded by a watercourse, sits the royal palace of the last Burmese monarchy, the Mandalay Palace, and the city withhold fascinating religious and architectural sites, such as Mahagandaryone and Atumashi Monastery. Upon arrival in Mandalay, our guide who will assist you with the transfer to town will await you in the arrival hall. On the way, we´ll stop to visit Amarapura, an ancient capital built on the advice of astrologers and then we´ll go to see the oldest and longest teakwood bridge in the world, U Bein Bridge, a passage that spans the Taungthaman Lake near to Amarapura. During our Mandalay sightseeing we´ll visit Mahamuni Image, bronze Buddha image casted during the lifetime of Buddha himself and we´ll learn about the traditional tapestry works, woodcarving and bronze casting in the city´s workshops. To wrap up our sightseeing we´ll go to see the exquisite wood carvings of Shwenandaw Monastery, the world’s biggest book protected by the walls of Kuthodaw Pagoda, and we´ll sit on the top of Mandalay Hill and see the sunset and beautiful panoramic view of the city. Overnight in Mandalay.
Day 4

Day 4: MANDALAY – YANGON (1.5 hrs by plane, included)

Rise early for breakfast at the hotel, then prepare for transfer to the airport to take your flight back to Yangon. Upon arrival, meet our guide who will be waiting for you at the arrival hall and head together for another Yangon sightseeing tour before the check-in to the hotel. We´ll visit Loka Chantha Abhayalabhamuni Buddha Image, which is carved from over 600 tons white marble rock of 37 feet long, and after lunch (own expenses), we´ll follow to Bogyoke Aung San Market, the largest market in Yangon. There will be plenty of time to browse the hundreds of stalls for souvenirs and bargains. Later in the evening, you are free to enjoy some leisure time in the city. Perhaps take a walk to Chinatown, where you will see many street vendors and you can sample a variety of different local products and tropical fruits. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 5


Wake up to breakfast at your hotel. Then prepare to check out of your room at the scheduled time and transfer to the airport for your onward or return flight.
