On your arrival at Yangon International Airport, make your own way to the arrivals hall where you´ll be greeted by our English-speaking guide and will start your introductory tour through Yangon City. The best arrival time is before 9:00 in the morning. Please set your travel arrangements accordingly or book our optional pre-night stay in Yangon. Yangon is Myanmar´s largest city and one of the most exciting spots in the country as a former political exile, where financial specialists and foreign travellers run in. As Myanmar´s business and cultural hub, reflects the most the changes that occurred since the country reopen the borders. There's a rash of new eateries, bars and shops. We will stop for a lunch at the local restaurant (own expenses) and then we´ll continue to Kandawgyi Nature Park - a scenic park with a lovely view of the famous Kandaweyi Lake & Karaweik Royal Barge. From here, continue to Shwedagon Pagoda, the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar. Follow the guide’s lead around this massive complex and learn why this temple is so revered. In the late afternoon, you will be transferred to the hotel for check-in. Overnight in Yangon.
Day 2

Day 2: YANGON – GOLDEN ROCK – YANGON (530 km – 8 hr)

Early morning, after breakfast at the hotel, start your journey to Golden Rock, a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon State. This drive will take approx. 4 hours to Kyaiktiyo Base Camp. From the base camp, travel by local open-air truck along a winding road. Experience a cable car ride from mid mountain to the top of the mountain and return. A huge boulder covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. Golden Rock is one of Myanmar’s most important pilgrimage sites. Offer Gold leaf to the shrine as per local customs. In the afternoon, you will be returned to Yangon, to arrive in the evening at the hotel. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 3: YANGON – BAGO – YANGON (80 km – 1.45 hrs)

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and get ready for your drive to Bago, the ancient capital of the Mon Kingdom, 80 km northeast of Yangon. We´ll stroll down the streets of Bago and we´ll explore religious sites and the remains of the ancient palace, we´ll learn more about the rich history of this spiritual city. The visit of the 55-metre-long Shwethalyaung Buddha (‘Reclining Buddha’), which dates back to 994 AD, is a must, together with the four seated Buddhas at Kyaikpun and the Mon-style Shwemawdaw Pagoda that are the most outstanding religious monuments in Bago. After the lunch at the local restaurant (own expenses), we will drive back to Yangon, passing along the small rustic villages and paddy fields, sketching the traditional rural atmosphere. Once back in Yangon, the rest of the day is free for you to spend at leisure. Overnight in Yangon.
